Depending on season and sightnings we can plan a nice birding adventure around Rotterdam. For example a hike in a park, a birding tour in the rural area outside Rotterdam.

And for a daytour we advise to book a tour to the Biesbosch area, where Osprey and White-tailed eagle are breeding. Just tell us your plans and wishes and we will plan a birding trip that suites your personal situation.


Rotterdam is situated near the coast of the Netherlands.  So you can add also coastal birds to your checklist.

During a half day you will visit around 2 spots and during a daytour you will visit 2 or 3 spots.  You can encounter the following birds: , Waterfowl, birds of prey, geese, songbirds, waders and many more.

Most of the tours will include a visit to the small natures reserves of 'Ackerdijkse Plassen', 'Hollandse Delta' and  'Eiland van Brienenoord' A good place to spot Smew in wintertime.

A visit to the Ackerdijkse Plassen includes a hike to 7 kilometer to 3 bird shelters.

If you have a full day to spent than we advice to go birding at the island of Tiengemeten. A truly unique piece of land. On 10 May 2007, the island was officially given back to nature; its farming inhabitants were relocated and nature has been allowed to work its way undisturbed.

Tiengemeten has become a real wilderness with trackless terrain, flowing creeks and gullies, meadows full of flowers and huge populations of migrating birds, including Ospreys and Egrets. Some of the marshy pastures are grazed by Highland cattle and other hardy animals. The island has cycle paths and tracks, and also a large earthwork which serves well as an elevated outlook post for birdspotters.
